Man arrested for killing young boy who broke his tablet

The adopted son of a Surat Thani-province politician has been accused of murdering a young boy for breaking his new toy.

Police arrested the 19-year-old man on Sunday on suspicion of murdering a 4-year-old boy but did not release his name to the public.

The boy had been missing since his parents took him to a teacher retirement dinner at a local primary school. His body was later found about 100 meters away in a pond, and a forensic examination concluded he’d died of organ failure and internal bleeding from blunt-force trauma, Bangkok Post reported.

Police chief Col. Chokchai Srathongno said the suspect confessed to taking the boy behind the school and striking him more than a dozen times before throwing his body into the pond because the boy dropped and broke his new tablet computer.
