Man dismembers nephew at their noodle shop

A Chanthaburi man confessed to dismembering his nephew and throwing his remains into a canal, police said today.

Yos Chankaew, 61, said he smashed his 41-year-old nephew’s head with a sledgehammer while he slept then cut his body into five pieces, the remains of which were discovered Sunday in a canal near the noodle shop where they both worked.

It all started when the two men were drinking, according to the Bangkok Post.

At some point the younger man, Thaworn Intachan, told his uncle to return some borrowed money. The demand angered Yos, and the two men began fighting.

Yos couldn’t best the younger man, which police said left him burning for vengeance.

Yos, who’s described by his family as mentally unstable, then waited for his nephew to fall asleep.
