This weekend, a speedboat accident just off the coast of Pattaya left 16 Korean tourists injured and two in critical condition.
While en-route between Pattaya and Ko Laan Island, a speedboat named “Sea Dream” collided with another boat, which had laid anchor roughly 800 meters off the coast.
After the two boats collided, vessels in the surrounding area helped to bring the injured tourists in to safety. Sixteen tourists sustained minor injuries, while two were in critical condition. One man lost a leg in the speedboat’s propeller.
Though the boat’s passengers are all accounted for, the pilots of both ships involved in the collision are still at large, and being pursued by police.
