Singapore gears up for Echelon tech conference

Patai Padungtin won the Echelon Start up Launchpad last year for his construction management app Builk.

Preeminent Southeast Asia tech blog e27 will once again be putting on the annual Echelon technology and business event in Singapore this year from June 4 – 5 at the Singapore Expo MAX Atria. Last Friday, e27 unveiled the list of speakers, agenda and pitching startups for the two-day event.

Included among the keynote speakers is Dave McClure, founding partner of the highly successful 500 Startups (who will also be speaking in Bangkok at a Tech in Asia event on June 9). Sahil Lavingia, founder of Gumroad and someone who raised US$8.1M at the ripe age of 20 will also be featured. Mr. Lavingia has worked extensively on improving user experience with the curation platform Pinterest.

Echelon, now in its 4th year, will feature over 50 speakers and judges from all over the world actively participating in keynotes and panel discussions. The dynamic and informative sessions will provide an excellent opportunity for investors and tech entrepreneurs alike to glean important insights from leaders in the field.

“We’ve been organizing Echelon for the past 4 years, and this is our best year yet,” says e27 co-founder and CEO Mohan Belani. “The caliber of the speakers and panelists we’ve invited, and the quality of the startups that are exhibiting and pitching reveal a huge groundswell of interest, excitement and opportunity for the tech business in Southeast Asia.”

As one of the event highlights, 50 handpicked startups from around the Asia Pacific region will be on exhibition with 10 of the most promising ones competing in the ever-popular pitching battle for the prestigious title of “Echelons 2013’s Most Promising Startup.”

e27, which was founded in 2006, reports on tech startup news, trends, events and personalities as they relate to the tech community in Southeast Asia.
