With the number of views approaching the 30-million mark in five weeks, the luk thung-hip hop hybrid has garnered massive attention from inside Thailand and abroad. The RS song has proven so successful that two ladyboys filmed a naked dance to the song, which left them in the doghouse.
This song by 3.2.1 featuring Baitoey R-Siam encourages the expression of love. The lyrics say that women who have fallen for men must open up their hearts and announce their feelings. The sexy boob-shaking dance routine that accompanies it has played a vital role in making “Splash Out” a success, spawning dozens of YouTube covers.
Below is the official Coconuts Top Ten list of “Splash Out” covers created by Thai fans. We literally looked through over 100 homemade videos out there on YouTube before handpicking only ten worth-watching renditions. Three main criteria we used in the judging: creativity, production values, and the ability to convey the “Splash Out” spirit.
