Excitement is building among students at Rattana Bundit University (RBAC) as a celebrated boxer prepares to join the university’s business administration school during the 2013 academic year.
Opinions are split as to whether this is a shrewd marketing plan on the part of the university, or the result of the athlete’s honest desire for a bachelor’s degree. Sombat Banchamek, aka Buakaw, a 31-year-old Surin native, will have to juggle between his boxing camp and the campus for the next four years so as to complete his education.
