In the past couple of months, more than 1,000 diehard fans of Channel 3 soap Suparburoot Jutathep, also known as the Five Brothers, reportedly registered their babies’ births using names of the series’ five main characters.
According to the Department of Provincial Administration, the most popular name is Rachanon, which has been adopted for 664 babies. The other four names include Puttipat (412 babies), Taratorn (142 babies), Pawornruj (112 babies) and Ronapee (26 babies).
The trend is likely to be ongoing, as Suparburoot Jutathep will be onscreen for at least the next two months. The five-part series is scheduled to air Friday to Sunday, from 8:15 to 10:45pm.
