‘Fast & Furious 6’ buys pirated copy of his own movie in Thailand

Yesterday, Sung Kang, an American actor who played Han Seoul-Oh in Fast & Furious 6 posted a photo of a pirated DVD of his movie to his Facebook public page

“USD3 bootleg. That was fast,” Kang wrote. The copy cover is written in Thai, leading netizens to assume that he bought it in the Kingdom.

Kang’s post drew mixed reactions from Thai netizens. Top comments range from, “I feel awfully sorry for this kind of criminal” and “We always love Fast & Furious,” to “Welcome to Thailand lol.”

Ironically, another faction of Kang’s foreign fans tried to claim that they could buy the same copy at a cheaper price from Mexico. They suggested that copies are available for as little as USD0.50.

The action film, directed by Justin Lin, hit Thai cinemas on May 23 and is still showing.
