A coterie of rambunctious bureaucrats nicknamed the “Ice cream gang” took a picture of themselves holding the frozen food which is their namesake, and posted it on Instagram. Government Spokesman Teerat Ratanasevi, PM Secretary Suranant Vejjajiva and two other officials appear in the image. It was taken in Poland where the Prime Minister is currently on a trip.
If there was any doubt that the group was in fact a gang, Labour Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung made sure to clarify the matter with the Bangkok Post.
“There is a group of politicians at Government House, especially the ice cream gang, who will make her (Yingluck’s) job as prime minister more difficult,” said Yoobamrung.
“There’s an ice cream gang at Government House,” he reiterated.
The ice cream gang earned their moniker from Pheu Thai Party members whom used it to describe politicians and aides of then Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva.
