Former Thai sport shooter surrenders in domestic battery case

Jakkrit Panichpatikum, a former national sport shooter accused of domestic battery, surrendered to Min Buri police this morning.

Jakkrit, 40, was summoned after his 65-year-old mother, Boonchit Panichpatikum, and 36-year-old wife, Nithawadee Phucharoenyot, filed a complaint against him with Social Development and Human Security Minister Paveena Hongsakul.

Nithawadee claimed that Jakkrit, who was under influence of alcohol and drugs, hit her often, forcing her and Boonchit to move out of their house and into a hotel.

However, Jakkrit denied the allegation that he had Nithawadee, but admitted to hitting the other woman, who he said was his wife as well. Jakkrit is being questioned at the Min Buri police station, Dailynews reports.
