The police have granted bail to the bar musician who is accused of stabbing an American to death after he wouldn’t quit singing.

3 bar members in the southern resort town of Ao Nang, Krabi were arrested early Wednesday in connection to the death of a 51-year old Texas man, Bobby Ray Carter. The 3 men were charged with causing death by physical attack, an offense punishable of up to 15 years in prison.

Police Col. Boontawee Toraksa, stated the court grated bail Thursday to the man who allegedly stabbed carter, 27-year old Ratikorn Romin. His band members remain in custody, reports Kentucky.com.

Police report that the argument occurred after Carter had been drinking and singing with the band however he refused to leave the stage to allow other customers to sing. Police Chief Col. Taksin Pochakorn said, “witnesses said Carter got angry when the band played ‘Hotel California’ instead of the song he requested, and he refused to step down.”

Carter’s family has refused to comment to the media. However Carter’s cousin, Kiki Bower provided the following statement, “We appreciate the swift action by the Thai police to capture the 3 men who took Bobby’s life and are calling on the Thai justice system to hold these criminals accountable to the fullest extent of the law for this senseless loss of life.”
