The Public Health Ministry recently released data on the country’s pneumonia statistics. As of August 4th there were 99,670 cases and 581 deaths caused from pneumonia. 30 percent of sufferers were above the age of 65 and 10 percent were below the age of one and another 10 percent were 55-64 years-old.
Over the past three years the peak infection time has been during the rainy season. The North and Northeast regions of the country are prone to the highest rates of pneumonia, reported Bernama.
