Several hundred Thai citizens flocked to Siam Paragon mall this morning to show their opposition to corruption in the Thai society on the occasion of the Anti-Corruption Day.
The crossed-arm signs were seen across the central Bangkok mall, where a network of 47 business enterprises called the Anti-Corruption Organization of Thailand (ACT), held their third annual event under the theme “ACT NOW: Together We Fight, Fight for the Future.”
ACT chief Pramon Sutivong called for all sectors to join forces in the fight against corruption, especially the government and public servants. Aside from the business sector, educational institutions and the media pledged to help raise the awareness of the issue.
Also joining the event was Sompoch Toraksa, a broadcaster with Channel 7 who is now facing a lawsuit after he covered the Samut Prakan Provincial Administrative Organization’s alleged budget spending irregularities.
