Bangkok to organize street food carts

Deputy governor of Bangkok Wallop Suwandee plans to organize the street food carts in front of Central World shopping mall due to complaints from locals.

The carts, which face each other on the footpath in front of Central World, leave a narrow aisle for pedestrians to walk down. Wallop’s plan is to arrange the carts into one row and limit each vendor to a two-meter long area.

Pathumwan authorities are negotiating with the food vendors and once a compromise has been reached the project will continue on Ratchada road, Daily News reported.
