Thai ladies knockout China, play Japan in final today

Thailand pulled off a brilliant comeback to knock out China in the semifinals of the 17th Asian Women’s Volleyball Championship 19-25, 25-19, 25-22, 21-25,16-14.

China got off to a good start winning the first set 25-19. Thailand improved in the second set and capitalized on China’s poor serving to claim a 25-19 win. The Thais took the third set and China the fourth. Thailand raced to a 4-0 lead in the fifth, only for China to fight back to 14-14. But Thailand held on to win the next two points and the match, reported the Bangkok Post.

Thailand’s 3-2 win against the defending champions means they will face Japan in today’s final at 6pm.
