Buriram United entice former Arsenal player with outrageous salary

Former Arsenal and Hull city striker Jay Simpson has put pen to paper on two-year deal for Buriram United worth a reported THB2 million a week.

Simpson joined Buriram on a free transfer and the outrageous deal makes him the highest paid Thai Premier League (TPL) player of all time.

The 24-year-old was released by Hull in the summer and he had been linked with a move to Turkish side Gaziantepspor.

Simpson came through the ranks at Arsenal before he failed to establish himself at the Emirates and had spells out on loan at Millwall, West Brom and Queens Park Rangers before joining Hull in 2010, where he scored 13 goals in 85 appearances, reported Goal.
