Extend Full Moon Party to boost tourism revenues, says minister

Somsak Purisisak, Thailand’s Minister of Sports and Tourism, has a master plan to boost tourism revenues this high season: Extend the Full Moon Party to six days.

Somsak said that he believes this will increase tourism arrivals to Thailand and boost the average daily spend per person from THB4,000 to THB5,000-6,000, Khaosod reported.

The Full Moon Party attracts 30,000 revelers to Koh Pangan and Koh Samui every month.

In other tourism news, Somsak said that OTOP products will be sold on Ratchadamri and Ratchadamneon road in December.

The government will also conduct a survey this high season with tourists in each province to maximize their traveling experience and improve Thailand’s tourism, he said.

The survey is expected to be completed in the first quarter of next year.
