Antigovernment protesters have agreed this afternoon to break camp from outside the prime minister’s office at the Government House.

With security measures heightened in parts of the capital due to tomorrow’s arrival of Chinese Premiere Li Keqiang, police had been attempting today to convince the demonstration to leave.

The group’s leader, retired Gen. Preecha Iamsuwan, said the group would relocate back to Lumpini Park out of consideration for the Chinese visit. He reserved the right to possible return to Dusit district offices of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.

There was no immediate word whether authorities would reconsider Wednesday’s decision to impose the Internal Security Act in Dusit and two other districts.
