A fire last night in Khlong Toey district was reportedly started by a man named Nut who poured fuel on his house and set it alight after an argument with his wife.

Pol Col Katechakaj Nilpradab, superintendent of Tha Rua police station, said today that police will seek an arrest warrant for the man and that witnesses confirmed that he had started the blaze that damaged 50 wooden houses. No one has been reported dead.

More than 15 fire trucks batted the blaze for over an hour from the Chalerm Maha Nakhon Expressway before getting it under control.

Roughly 200 people were displaced by the fire and have been provided temporary shelter by Klong Toey district, the Bangkok Post reported.
