Dead body coincidentally found in Rangsit canal during clean-up process

A maintenance worker clearing debris from last week’s storm made a sad discovery on Saturday.

Sopchai Sriserm of the Royal Irrigation Department was clearing hyacinth from the Rangsit canal with a backhoe truck when he accidentally scooped up a dead man.

The dead man found in Khlong Rangsit has since been identified as 77-year-old Phol Saekol, who had been reported missing the previous morning.

Phol’s family said he suffered from epilepsy and was assumed to have fallen accidentally into the canal due to his sickness, Sanook reported.
