Architecture prophet Frank Gehry to discuss his work, Thailand

Frank Gehry, octogenarian superstar of international architecture, will talk shop next month in Bangkok.

The most high-profile architect of the late 20th and early 21st centuries, the 84-year-old master of deconstructivism will speak Nov. 3 at a private function at Voice TV. The event is free, but only open to members of the Thailand Creative & Design Center.

Known most famously for his Guggenheim in Bilbao, Spain as well as the Walt Disney Concert Hall in his adopted home of Los Angeles, Gehry will discuss his “approach on creating unique spaces which blend and enhance the environments and cultures which they inhabit, including built environment, places, objects and people as sources of inspiration and creativity,” according to a TCDC news release. Erudite moderator Pansak Vinyaratn, chief policy to Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, will link the discussion to a Thai context.

Frankly Speaking: A Conversation with Frank Gehry” will happen from 9:30am to 12:30pm on Nov. 3 in Voice TV’s Voice Space on Viphavadi-Rangsit Road. The dicussion will be conducted in English, with Thai translation available via headphone.
