A new queen of the transgender world will be named Friday, but the heated contest has already begun.
Although Miss Malaysia won the crowd and talent points with her lip-synching last night, Thailand’s representative, Netnapada “Neck” Kanlayanon, still has a chance to be named most beautiful ladyboy in the world.
And unlike a certain fashion faux pas by Miss Thailand Universe, her appearance did not disappoint Thai fans.

It was Neck’s marvelous costume Rojana Siang Puang Malai which left the ladyboy community in awe. It was inspired by a scene from the classic Thai story Sang Tong in which Rojana, the youngest princess of King Samol king, had to choose a husband from among the eligible princes. Instead she handed flower garland to a hideous, black-skinned character named Ngo Pa because she could see past his appearance and knew he was a prince in disguise.
The costume features beautiful embellishments along the traditional-styled silk top, gold jewelry, and the 13-kilogram head piece, all designed by Tiffany’s Show team.
Transgender beauties from 28 countries are competing in the pageant, with the final round taking place Friday night at Tiffany’s Show Theater in Pattaya. The competition will be broadcast on MCOT channel at 10:30pm. Those who want to witness the contest and see the contestants in the flesh can reserve tickets at Thai Ticket Major and Tiffany’s Show Pattaya.
