Hackers jack into Bangkok ATMs, siphon serious cash

The skimmers are back to siphon money from unsuspecting ATM users.

ATM banking on Wireless Road was halted today after skimmers hacked cash machines in at least two buildings.

Lumphini police confirmed at 1:30pm that several ATMs in had been hacked at the All Seasons Place and Rolex Building.

JS100 twitter forwarded a warning from Lumphini police that netizens should avoid using ATM services at in the building after more than 30 victims were reported to lose THB30,000 – THB70,000 from each of their bank accounts.

According to the latest investigation, ATM skimmers stole information from the victims’ cards and transferred funds to a bank account located in the Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Kasikorn Bank made an announcement on Facebook that the bank will compensate customers whose money was stolen.
