It stings the nostrils: Thousands of dead horse mussels wash up on Hua Hin beach

Thousands of dead horse mussels washed up at Liab Wang Neau earlier today.

That surely can’t be a good sign for the health of the oceans.

Bussaba Chokesuschat, deputy mayor of Hua Hin, led a troop of local environment division officers to clean up the unlucky bivalves this afternoon.

Apparently, the dead mussels were beginning to rot in the sunlight and started emitting a pungent scent.

Khaosod reported the officers were able to get rid of most of mussels on the beach but had to stop because of the high tide.
