Kapow! Superheroes grace temple walls in Nonthaburi

What’s the most-talked-about photo this morning? It’s your favorite superheroes and icons painted on the walls of a Buddhist temple!

The epic piece of wall art at Bang Jak Temple in Nonthaburi province has gone viral since it was captured by a Facebook user last night. The photo shows world-renowned superheroes (plus David Beckham and… we think that’s Cristiano Ronaldo over his right shoulder?) gathering for a session of Dharma Buddhist sermons.

Batman, Superman, SpiderMan, Wolverine, the Hulk, and Captain America are all represented, amongst others.

While most faces are adopted from the West, the artist threw in a few Asian characters such as Ikkyū-san monk, Doraemon, and the moustache man on the right who is assumed by netizens to be Khun Phaen, the sex icon of Thai literature.

The user hasn’t confirmed in which building he found this wall art, but it is certainly a nice distraction for children and nerds who come to make merit at the temple.
