Hot Thai-on-Thai action in new No. 1 game

Frustrated with politics and celebrity backbiting? Would pitting today’s politicians in cartoon combat against obnoxious comedians and even former prime ministers provide cathartic relief?

Reigning in the No. 1 spot in Apple’s Thai app store right now is ThaiFight, a release from current event-related stress, which couldn’t have come at a better time.

The highlight comes down to game characters, staring familiar faces of Thai politicians from Prime Minister Yingluck, her famous brother Thaksin and Abhisit Vejjajiva to Chuwit Kamolvisit. The gameplay is quite simple and awesome in its own right: just throw things at their heads.

On the lighter side, the developers did not forget to relieve the game’s tension and put Thai actors and comedy stars into the game such as Tony Jaa, Sek Loso, Note Udom and Ichitan’s CEO Tan Passakornnatee. Though that may also qualify as a political-themed selection.

The setting of the game is also another fun part. Players might encounter Chuwit in front of MBK, fight as Tony Jaa in the middle of a rice field with some lovely buffalo, or toss an axe at Sek Loso on a BTS platform.

Regarding the situation, the developers put up a disclaimer that the game is made for “entertainment purposes only.” We agree – it’s pretty entertaining and could be an outlet to pass the time while you’re stuck in the frozen traffic, on your way to the Democracy Monument or wherever you’re going.
