Photo Essay: Scenes from Monday’s battle for police HQ

The streets around Bangkok’s Metropolitan Police Bureau descended into chaos again yesterday as protesters sought to enter and take control of the building. Tear gas and colored dye were used to repel the crowd until a cease-fire was declared in the afternoon. 

Today, protest leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban has directed all remaining anti-government forces to converge on the police headquarters in a concerted effort to occupy the city police headquarters.
