Tall girl meets tall guy: Thailand’s record holders seek treatment in Bangkok

Together, they would stretch 470 centimeters or 15 feet, 5 inches.

Yesterday Malee Duangdee, Thailand’s tallest woman, traveled from her home in Trat province to consult with Dr. Tossaporn Serirak about her condition at Ramathibodi Hospital yesterday, where she happened to meet the country’s tallest man.

Malee, who is 22-years-old and measures exactly seven feet, sought help from Dr. Tossaporn after he treated Pornchai Sawsri, the tallest Thai man on record at 257 centimeters (8 feet, 5 inches) in Bangkok.

Just like Pornchai, Malee suffers from malfunctioning growth hormones, which requires her to have a monthly injection in Bangkok for the past seven years to slow her growth. But unlike Pornchai, Malee can walk and helps her family earn a living in Trat, where she’s hired to tap rubber trees.

Dr. Tossaporn says Malee has been receiving the right treatment and will seek for donations to help with her financial burden of constant hospital bills so she can go back to school.

During her doctor visit, Dr. Tossaporn took Malee to meet with 24-year-old Pornchai Sawsri, the Surin man who’s suffering from the same symptom, Daily News reported.
