ThaiPBS: Shutdown affects millions

Just a half day into the “Bangkok Shutdown,” more than one million people throughout the capital are already affected, according to Thai PBS.

Its count includes 680,000 people who live near one of the demonstrations, 440,000 students unable to attend school and 1.2 million workers who work in the affected area.

Already 4.8 million commutes have been affected, The Nation reported.
