A suitcase burst into flames on the baggage carousel at Bangkok Airways’ check-in counter this morning at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
The bag belonged to a Thai passenger whose name was withheld, according to investigators, who filled the bag with the usual toiletries and some jeans. Oh right, he also packed some highly combustible white phosphorus for his trip too.
The passenger claimed the chemical was meant to be displayed in Cambodia. Unfortunately, it was agitated on the carousel, causing a beautiful flame to wake up the airline’s staff, Sanook reported.
