One of the hardest working local trios you’ve probably never heard of; Pym, Pang and Praewa of Yellow Fang have performed countless shows together for six years.
Music being a part-time obsession afforded by their full-time jobs, they just haven’t been able to finish an album, until now.
Today, “The Greatest,” built from the bones of the series of singles released over the years, is available in stores.
“Years pass and we write songs, and we collect them,” said drummer Praewa Chirapravati, 26. “This album is kind of like ‘the greatest hits,’ because actually we’ve released the songs already.”
It’s easy to get a little lost or surrender to navel-gazing with their music, which melts from shoegazy gauze to icy surf-rock anxiety. The vocals roll out in Thai, but with a Western inflection that can leave them impenetrable to everyone.
The album is available in Siam Square at DJ SIam, Inter Music and at Nong Taprachan in the Lat Phrao district.
