The show won’t go on: Silverlake Music Festival postponed indefinitely

So much for reliving our misspent ‘90s industrial rocker youths next month in Pattaya.

Blaming the present political situation, organizers of the Silverlake Music Festival announced this morning the event which was to be headlined by Nine Inch Nails on March 1, has been “indefinitely” postponed.

“Due to the social and political situation currently under way in Thailand, the festival organizer and bands have agreed that it is neither respectful nor appropriate to host a celebratory event like a music festival when there are greater, more important issues being confronted in Thailand,” it read. “Silverlake Music Festival would like to thank you for all your support and promises that SMF will return in the future, but not until the political climate in Thailand returns to normalcy.”

Silverlake Music Festival is a large international music events that has been held semi-annually at the Silverlake Vineyard in Pattaya. This year’s artists lineup include the big names such as Nine Inch Nails, The Hives and FOALS.

Those who have purchased the tickets will be given a full refund. For more information regarding how to get your money back, check out Silverlake Music Festival on Facebook.
