It’s something of a marvel that Bangkok’s taps deliver potable water, but apparently that’s not enough for some.
Recently the city has been receiving complaints of a “salty” taste to the stuff, and a health expert is trying to dampen any panic over the wet stuff.
Whether it’s due to drought or high water level in the gulf, Sa-Nga Damapong of the Nutrition Association of Thailand said the city’s water purification system is sufficient.
Having safe water to drink for those who don’t or can’t buy bottled water is important – some would argue a basic human right. But Sa-Nga understands that doesn’t mean many make use of it. He said the salty water would only be a problem if people drink a lot of tap water.
“In reality, no one does that anyway,” he told Khaosod.
