Thai Disney Story Artist with Oscar in her hand shared all over the web

Sad that Fawn Veerasuntorn didn’t hold the camera herself, otherwise she would have created the coolest selfie in Thailand, what with the gleaming gold Oscar in her hands.

The biggest Thai dimension to come from today’s Academy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles was this photo of Fawn, a story artist who was recognized as one of three Thais who worked on Walt Disney’s “Frozen.”

The photo of her with the iconic statuette has been shared hundreds of times so far this afternoon.

Frozen – a musical fairy tale about two royal sisters in an icy Scandinavian kingdom –  won the Academy Award on Sunday for best animated feature film.

And now we know who to thank for the modern take on the princess story, as Frozen breaks the mold with a female lead – Queen Elsa – who won’t be swept off her feet by some singing, slightly creepy prince charming.

As Elsa declares, “You can’t marry a man you just met.”

The three Thais who worked on the film are:

Fawn Veerasunthorn: Story artist (the girl in the photo)

Sunny Apinchapong: Visual Development Artist

Rattanin Sirinaruemarn : Effects apprentice
