Shock the macaque: Meandering monkey saboteur survives 22,000 volts, knocks out power

One meandering monkey knocked out the power for hundreds of Hua Hin residents yesterday.

An itinerant macaque was recovering yesterday at the Kasetsart University Hospital after being seriously electrocuted after wandering up a utility pole.

The pole supported power lines running at 22,000 volts.

After the monkey’s lights went out, so did those of Prachuap Khiri Khan. Though seriously injured, the macaque was not killed and is under the care of veterinarians, Bangkok Post reported.

Maybe Hua Hin should garrison some of those Monkey Police.
