Election officials have launched an investigation of Bangkok’s senator-elect over prohibited campaign activities.
Although the commission validated 58 candidates’ victories from last month’s upper-house election, it has declined to certify the win of Jaruwan Mainthaka, an opposition Democrat.
Instead the commission today said it would investigate allegations that Jaruwan violated campaign rules by having an appointed senator campaign on her behalf at a rally of anti-government protesters, The Nation reported.
