Here’s why the little sleepy monk was so sleepy

Since the internet died of cute overload from the “sleepy boy” video, toddler Korn’s story has been investigated to learn the truth about his unbelievable sleepiness.

Due to his mom’s busy schedule during the day, 1-year-old Korn is usually taken to the abbot of Pamanhikan Temple at the unkind hour of 5:30am, and the boy then follows the monks for Bintabaht to receive food from locals.

After that, the toddler has a morning nap and will wake up for merit-making at noon, when the video was probably filmed.

Korn has cared for by the monks at the Nonthaburi province temple since he was three months old. The toddler is taught and encouraged to do monkly activities such as Bintabaht, feeding stray animals and practicing Buddhist prayer.

Warittha Sua-paew, his mother, reveals she wants Korn to be surrounded by the world of Buddhism and thus has been taking him to the abbot every day, Sanook reported.
