MRT halted by ‘scary noise’ this morning

So your colleagues didn’t lie when they said they were late this morning because of the MRT.

At around 7:30am, operation of the subway line was halted after a train made a loud noise scary enough that officials decided to evacuate passengers for safety. Passengers were told to reboard a new train at the Rama IX station as the suspect carriage was sent for repair.

The incident significantly delayed the MRT and caused crowds to back up at stations on a big back-to-work morning, Kapook reported.

The report didn’t specify whether the sound was like a horrible metal screech or the wail of a vengeful ghost, but from our weekend’s experience on the MRT, maybe it was just any sound loud enough to make everyone lift their noses from their smartphones.
