Fly to Seoul for less than a bottle of decent whisky on Thai AirAsia X

Bangkok to Seoul for THB1,990? Grabbing attention with ridiculously low fares such as this, AirAsia’s new budget carrier launched earlier today with flights from Bangkok to Seoul starting June 17.

Interested? The tickets go on sale tonight.

Called Thai AirAsia X, or TAAX, the brand’s Korean run will fly from Don Mueang every morning and return from Seoul’s Incheon International in the late afternoon.

A limited number of promotional tickets are available at 11pm tonight at www.airasia.com.

The launch of TAAX, Thailand’s first low-cost, long-haul carrier, is AirAsia’s latest attempt to strengthen its extensive route network by offering opportunities to visit distant destinations directly from Bangkok, reducing the need to stop at Kuala Lumpur for some destinations.

The new lines will field Airbus A330-300s which hold 377 seats: 365 economy-class seats and 12 of the carrier’s “Premium FlatBed” seats.

TAAX’s upcoming destinations include direct flights from Don Mueang to Tokoy’s Narita and Osaka’s Kansai airports.
