How hot it is: Man dies waiting for traffic light to change

An Ayutthaya man’s death is being blamed on the miserable heat, and despite coming stormy weather, temperatures will remain high for days to come.

Not to mention our date with Mr. Sun set for, well, Sunday.

Wichai Traipo, 66, was found dead in his car while stopped at a red light at an intersection in Ayutthaya province yesterday.

Other motorists noticed the driver dead in his car after he failed to move when the light turned green.

According to the dead man’s wife, Wichai had gone to a Tesco Lotus supermarket before the incident, which stands 500 meters away from the spot he was found dead.

She assumed her husband must have parked his car in the sunlight for a long time and his high blood pressure acted up when he drove the heated car.

Wichai’s body will be sent to Thammasat University Hospital to ascertain the cause of his death, Sanook reported.
