Souls of Bangkok: Kola the Film Lover

SOULS OF BANGKOK — Kola, 24, loves watching films and is a big fan of Bangkok’s reliably indie theatres such as Scala and Lido. Her passion for film extended to her studies, as her undergraduate years were spent studying motion pictures and still photography – in fact she’s just resigned from her job to pursue a master’s degree in graphic design.

The Godfather is my favorite film of all time. For other people, The Godfather might be just an action movie, but it’s the perfect film for me. It’s also a classic film that never seems out of date whenever I rewatch it. It gives me a taste of every genre — action, drama and family. Who could imagine that a gangster film can teach a lesson about family?”

Souls of Bangkok is a Coconuts series of street portrait photography inspired by Brandon Stanton’s Humans of New York. Every human has a story to tell, and we intend to share some from the millions of souls who call Bangkok home.
