Designer Dialogue: Ek Thongprasert’s fashion collections tell a story

Fashion Designer Ek Thongprasert says self-knowledge and respect are essential to finding one’s visual design language.

For him, it’s a journey that started with learning about architecture in Bangkok and then art in Belgium. Now he produces collections inspired by the artist’s he chooses to render in textiles.

Ek’s 2011 “Youth” collection was inspired by Oscar Wilde’s “The Picture of Dorian Gray.”
