British man detained at airport after losing weight at boxing camp

A British man, who lost fifty kilograms at a boxing camp in Phuket, was detained for questioning at an airport in Thailand because he didn’t look like his passport photo.

After spending one year in a boxing camp, Ross Connor, 33, was almost not allowed on his flight home after Thai officials didn’t believe his transformation.

“It was a worrying moment,” Ross told the Mirror, “I knew I’d lost a lot of weight, but I never expected they wouldn’t let me on the plane.”

Ross says he managed to negotiate with the officials by showing photographs of his weight loss transformation on his iPad.

“After all my hard work, I thought I wasn’t going to get home to show my family the result of my year of training,” he added.

During his time on Phuket, Ross worked out for four hours a day in the searing heat and slimmed down from 133 kilograms to 82 kilograms, Daily Star reported.
