The Royal Thai Army has announced a nationwide curfew from 10 p.m. tonight until 5 a.m. tomorrow.
The announcement was made on national television earlier today by deputy army spokesman Winthai Suvaree.
It came just an hour after army chief Gen. Prayuth Chan-ocha declared that the military had taken control of the government in a coup. The general said the armed forces had seized power to stabilize the country after months of intense political turmoil.
