Four baby tigers tied up with wires and kept in plastic boxes were found alive by police in Udon Thani yesterday.
The tigers, thought to be two or three years of age, were found abandoned in a car that had earlier been involved in a crash with a motorcycle.
The tigers had been sedated to make it easier to transport them and their claws had been removed.
Police believe that someone in a neighboring country had placed an order for them.
“Each tiger can fetch about THB300,000,” Udon Thani’s deputy police chief Colonel Surin Chaichomphu said,
They will be sent to a wildlife sanctuary to recover before being released into the wild, according to The Nation.
