Scandalous! Is National Enquirer alleging Yingluck had an affair with President Obama?

First she’s booted from power, then she’s detained, and now she must deal with allegations that she was Barack Obama’s illicit lover.

This has not been a good last week for Thailand’s former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.

America’s most shameless, shameful, and occasionally accurate tabloid the National Enquirer seems to have a front page “scoop” in their upcoming June 2 issue about Barack Obama’s alleged extra-marital affairs, substance abuse, and cover-ups.

In the spread – a purported advance copy of which is going viral on Facebook – the Enquirer makes the claim that Yingluck was one of President Obama’s “other women” along with pop star Beyonce, US Ambassador to Japan Caroline Kennedy, and California Attorney General Kamala Harris, among others. See the bottom right of the mag, below. 

They must be referring to Obama’s 2012 visit to Bangkok, during which Obama and Yingluck set tongues wagging for their overly friendly and borderline flirtatious rapport during a press conference at Government House.

Coconuts Bangkok was there and we can indeed report that the chemistry between the two heads of state was visible.

However, we find the notion that the two world leaders spent the night together pretty laughable.

But we suppose stranger things have happened.

We should also note that we’ve only seen an alleged photo of the inside report floating around on Facebook, so there is the possibility that it is fake. But the cover story (see below) is definitely on Obama’s alleged infidelity and we find this pretty consistent with the Enquirer’s reporting history.
