The future of 4G communications and long-awaited digital TV coupons were put on ice today.
Army Gen. Prayuth Chanocha, who seized power last month, today has directed telecom regulators to suspend THB100 billion in planned projects until they can be reviewed.
Those projects include spectra auctions for 4G telecom licenses and THB1,000 coupons to subsidize consumer adoption of digital televisions.
The projects were scheduled to be finalized tomorrow by the National Broadcasting and Telelcommunication Commission but have now been removed from the agenda, according to the comission’s Secretary-General Thakorn Tanthasit.
