Already famous for dodging bullets and fatal plunges, Buddhist amulets can now add disintegrating Lamborghinis to their list of protections.
Last night a THB36-million, red-plate Lamborghini was found split in half after careening into a tree in Phitsanulok province. One half slid off the road, the rear half spun in to the street, and the driver? He just walked away to call his insurance company.
Pitak Veangsima, the president of a U.S.-based multi-level marketing company, said he was speeding through heavy rain at 150kph to see a client when he lost control and slammed into the tree.
Pitak added that although he normally didn’t wear any amulets, but during a stop in Nakhon Sawan on his way from Bangkok, a friend warned him to put one on to keep him safe. It wasn’t just any amulet, but a rare Luang Poh Sod Wat Paknam amulet worth millions, Kapook reported.
A rescue volunteer captured a photo of the lucky dude’s roadside smile.
Some credit might also be due to the vehicle’s engineers, who some believe designed the car to split in half in case of catastrophic accidents, such as happened last year in New York. There’s video of that accident, featuring the demise of a white Lamborghini Aventador:
