4-year-old dies after being left in pick-up

A kindergarten student was found dead in a school car in Nakhon Si Thammarat province yesterday after being left locked inside for hours.

Ronnakorn “Boonpluem” Nakpan, 4, of Porn Udom Kindergarten School, was accidentally left sleeping in the back of a car by driver Anusorn Juengroongrueng.

Arrested and charged with negligence resulting in death, Anusorn said he usually picks up and drops off the students as a part-time job. After he dropped the kids at school yesterday morning, he parked the car at the police station and rode a motorcycle to the market without knowing the boy remained asleep in the back.

The absent-minded driver got back to the car later when it was time to pick up the students. He found it was too late to rescue the boy, who died from the heat, Thairath reported.
