Travelers take heed: Reconsider travel plans into those countries currently facing the outbreak of Ebola virus infections.
Due to the deadly virus’ spread in Africa, officials from the transportation, health and foreign affairs sectors gave a firm warning this morning that travelers from Thailand should steer clear of areas of infection to limit exposure.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised Thai travelers to avoid going abroad to African countries affected by the disease. Outbreaks have been found in Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria. If impossible to avoid those destinations, travelers are asked to notify the Thai embassy in Dakar, Senegal, of their itineraries.
Suvarnabhumi Airport director Raweewan Netrakavessana said tourists are required to complete forms asking about travelling plans and health conditions.
To ease fears about inbound flights, Raweewan said passengers and planes arriving from Africa are being thoroughly checked, Thai PBS and Bangkok Post reported.
